This week we investigate Trucking Investments where the complainant’s right to fair and honest dealings was violated.
Mme Caroline Makhoro decided to enter into a transport business. She went to Tata Motors in Boksburg to look for a bus, submitted her proposal at Tata and they transferred her proposal to Mr. Ravin Govender of Legal and Finance to check if she qualifies for financing from the bank. Mr. Ravin phoned her back to tell her that they couldn’t help with the finances.
Three months later Mr. Ravin introduced her to a company that rents out trucks and they were looking for people who can lease the trucks. Mr. Ravin told her that he would send a partner Mr. Bertie Therion to explain the whole trucking business opportunity to her and that he will bring the contract along. After her thorough research on Centax Legal and Financial Services and was satisfied with her discoveries on the company.
She got into an agreement with them and paid money amounted to R120 000 for 8 trucks which she wanted to lease and was promised her trucks by the end of February 2010. At that meeting she was also introduced to Mr. Gerhard Minnar (Principal) of Procure Logistics.
They corresponded with her using emails telling her that her trucks are working. And after several failures to deliver, she went to Mr. Ravin to talk about refund and he agreed to it. He still hasn’t kept his promises and now Mme Caroline wants her money back.
