Episode 11 - Paving my way to bankruptcy

In this episode we investigate Maswazi’s Paving and Home Improvements where Mme Anna Tselapedi’s right to fair and honest dealing was violated.

Mme Anna Tselapedi was approached by Mr. J. Ngwenya of Maswazi’s Paving and Home Improvements and was impressed by his presentation. They engaged in talks of him providing a service paving. On the 18th August 2012 she went to her bank with Mr. Ngwenya to make a loan of R23 000 so that she could pay for the project to instigate. Out of the loan money, R19 000 was deposited directly into Mr. Ngwenya’s account and the remaining balance of R4 000 into Mme Tselapedi’s account.  They agreed after the job was completed she would pay another R3 000.

Mr. Ngwenya promised to start with the paving job the following week but he never showed up. Two weeks later Mme Tselapedi kept on attempting to get Mr. Ngwenya to start with the work but nothing materialized. On the 12th September 2012 she spoke with Mr. Ngwenya on her friend’s phone whom Mr. Ngwenya was doing the pavement for and he promised Mme Tselapedi that he would come to start with her paving work in two days’ time.

Mr. Ngwenya went to Mme Tselapedi  with Mr. Mabokela explaining why hasn’t come to start with the paving work as he did not have enough paving material at the factory. He then promised that he will commence with the work on the 17th September 2012 yet nothing was done by Mr. Ngwenya.
Ever since that day Mr. Ngwenya has been playing hide and seek with Mme Tselapedi and therefore she decided to approach Speak Out in an attempt to help her solve this matter
