In this episode we investigate ROMI Marketing for violating Paula Sha’s right to fair and honest dealings.
In September 2011 she responded to the advertisement she found on the internet about kitchen trailers by Romi Marketing. She then spoke with Brian who is the owner of the company to enquire about their products. He presented her with the business address, bank account details where she could deposit the money and also told her when the trailer would be delivered to her.
She deposited the amount of R25 750 on the 12th September 2011 to Romi Marketing. Then on the 26th September 2011 she received an email correspondence from Brian confirming their receipt of the payment.
After numerous attempts to get the trailer delivered, she contacted Brian to cancel the contract of sale and refund her the money. He told her that there are no refunds but that he would sell the trailer on her behalf and give her the money. That on no occasion happened.
All he ever deposited into her account was R4 750 and another R4 000. And then went quite on her and has been ignoring her phone calls. Where is the remaining R17 000?
Paula Shah asked for Speak Out to intervene.
